Blue Sky Power is extremely excited to partner with YouthBuild’s innovative Green Building (or GreenBuild) program, which instructs students on sustainable construction practices. We will be working alongside students to develop a clean energy microgrid for the YouthBuild Philadelphia campus. Students will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience from the earliest stages of planning to the construction and operation of the project.
YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School’s mission is to empower young adults (18-21 years) to develop skills and connect to opportunities by fostering an environment of love, support, and respect for their whole person. Students graduate high school and successfully transition to college and career as critically conscious leaders, committed to positive change for themselves and their communities.
On a recent trip to a local BlueSky solar field, we were blown away with the passion and excitement that the students exhibited for clean energy and green living. We were equally impressed with the robust clean energy program led by GreenBuild instructor George Jenkins. We left confident that these bright young student will embrace and embody the holistic approach that Blue Sky Power brings to each of our projects and will be the influencers of the clean energy future.
While still in the earliest of stages, this partnership is incredibly meaningful to us at Blue Sky Power, and we couldn’t be happier to trade knowledge with YouthBuild Philly and its GreenBuild program moving forward.
